LESSONS IN LOVE – BY LITTLE LION
Why Little Lion?
My name, Lynette, means “Little Lion” (Lionette) in French. This talk is fun and interactive, with participants engaging in a few powerful experiential activities – for themselves – learning lessons in love and team work – powerful lessons that lions teach. Accompanied by a slide show of heart opening lion photos.
Why Lessons in Love?
Yes, lions are renowned for their strength, their courage, their leadership ... “The king of the jungle”. Throughout history, lions have been associated with kings, pharaohs, chiefs and high priests, and are drawn upon as symbols of royalty, supremacy, power and enlightenment, as symbols of truth, and the pride is a metaphor for ultimate teamwork.
So, what is it that ACTUALLY contributes to the success of a pride, and what is it ACTUALLY about lions that commands the admiration and interest that they receive?
I believe that it is about the role that each and every individual lion plays – each and every lion truly lives as a Lion Heart. Each and every lion is simply being a lion.
The talk is therefore about becoming the lions and the lion pride by incorporating more much needed love and kindness into the work place ... Lion Hearted truth, courage and openheartedness.
What does it mean to be Lion Hearted?
- The art of being yourself
- Having lion heart courage – The courage to be who you are and who you want to be
- Being confident and feeling good about who you are
- Being honest with yourself and others
- You walk your talk and are able to speak your truth when it is called for
- You are curious, yet comfortable under your skin
- You take things in your stride and with a large dose of playfulness
- You radiate a positive energy
- You communicate well and directly
- People trust and honour you as a leader in your own right
- You have the ability to nurture yourself and others
- You are compassionate and forgiving – You love with your whole heart
Some of the lessons learnt from the lions include:
- Each one is special, different and unique – Not judging others, rather accepting each other’s differences - Using each one’s strengths and abilities to the benefit of the team – Utilising your resources properly!! (The different roles the lionesses and male lions play in hunting.)
- We are all connected – we are all one. (The lions’ connection to the earth, to Nature, their prey and to each other.)
- Getting to know and understand each other on a deeper level. Bringing new people into the business. (Lions take time to formally introduce cubs into the pride. Lots of time spent interacting. They all care for each other and the cubs, often allowing other lionesses’ cubs to suckle.)
- The power of the spoken word. Setting boundaries and speaking your truth. Just ask! (Lions are particularly good at being direct, at saying “NO”!)
- Time to rest, time to play - The power of positive touch, showing love and care – A lion pride is continually connecting, touching and grooming. (Lions rest up to 20 hours a day to conserve energy and prepare for the next kill. The cubs learn to hunt and interact through play.)
"You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation" – Plato
The relationship between man and lion is suitably described by Evelyn Ames in “A Garden of Eden”:
“Lions are not animals alone; they are symbols and totems and legend; they have impressed themselves so deeply on the human mind if not in its blood; it is as though the psyche were emblazoned with their crest.
When you look into the eyes of a lion and watch the grace of his long stride – all that unused energy flowing under the skin, when you see the noble looking calm of the mouth and nose, the proud authority of the bearded chin – the mysterious reminder of the faces of classic and mythological heroes – you recognise to your marrow that you were born with that image already in you.”
As humans, we can only recognise these amazing aspects of lions if they are in fact inside of us and each other already!!
Perhaps it is the very values of the lion and the Lion Heart that are now missing from teams, from business, from so many justice systems and from life itself!
It is my wish that my talks support and guide my listeners back to being who they truly are, to being Lion Hearted, rediscovering their own lion heart courage and speaking their truth in love, kindness and appreciation for themselves, for each other, for humanity as a whole and for Nature.

VALUING ME, VALUING YOU
You have to value yourself first, before you can value anyone or anything else!
In the “Valuing Me, Valuing You” inspirational talk, each listener engages in a powerful activity, for themselves ... beautifully demonstrating how unique, different and special each individual is!
Topics which emerge include:
- It is what we do with this individuality that counts!
- Accepting each others' differences
- Choice
- “The one thing you have absolute control over is your attitude”
- Asking, “How can I serve you?”
- Saying, "Maybe I'm wrong!"
Two Dreamers, Two Dreams
Every human being has a personal dream of life. In a relationship, we can pretend to be the same, to think the same, to feel the same, to dream the same, but there is no way that can happen. There are two dreamers with two dreams. That is why we need to accept the differences that exist between two dreamers; we need to respect each other's dream.
Your life is the manifestation of your personal dream. If you can transform the program of your personal dream, you can become a dream master. A dream master creates a masterpiece of life.
