GIFTING AFRICA! Sharing the gift of us … simply sharing and experiencing life in Africa, with love … giving support and inspiration, and teaching through our gifts of love, joy, peace, experience and wisdom, through our presence and the various life enrichment programs we present. (And eventually to do the same in Europe and the rest of the world.) Uncovering Africa’s true gift – her people. Gathering and sharing “Lessons in Love” from Africa – The lessons of Ubuntu, the essence of what it is to be human, and what we believe Africa has to share with the world. Africa is notoriously riddled by war, violence, crime, famine, poverty and fraud. Imagine replacing this picture of Africa with one of love, hope, kindness, warmth, generosity, compassion and honesty. A picture that portrays a land of rich ritual, ceremony, spirit, music, dance and belly laughter. A land of survival, of support, caring and sharing. A land of possibility and diversity, of people existing in the simplicity of a life deeply connected to the earth and to each other. THIS is what Africa is really all about! As the world reels in recession and economic turmoil, Africa reaches out to say, “Look at me! Let me show you how to live in love, to reclaim your values and your humanness! This is the key to your survival.” Perhaps the reason why the world is in this sorry state in the first place is as a result of humanity’s lost connectivity, its lack of love and compassion and disregard for values. Let us embrace all Africa has to offer. On our tour we plan to connect with the President of each country and present a gift – a set of Lessons in Love – By Little Lion inspiration cards. We also hope to receive a message of inspiration for the people of Africa from each president. Messages we will spread throughout Africa.
The gifts being offered are services Lynette provides through her South African company, Lifetime Experiences Consulting cc, founded in April 2003. Now, she and Michael have combined resources and expertise to offer these services further a field, to Lions Clubs, networks and communities throughout Africa. The gifts are extensive and can extend to folk in hospitals, orphanages and even prisons. We work with groups and individuals, schools, companies, organisations and clubs. The interventions support to unite the people of Africa, bringing them to peace and harmony within themselves, with each other and with Nature … Bringing gifts to Africa and exposing Africa’s unique gifts to the world. The services we offer as gifts hold different monetary values when done for business. From R250,00 per hour for a life coaching session, to R10 000,00 per day for a team build. Memory Gifts When visiting paediatric palliative hospitals, we offer to take a “memory” photo of families together with their child. Some families cannot afford photographs or simply don’t have the opportunity. Gently easing the grieving process, we give them a poignant memory by handing over the framed printout. 6. Rediscovering Play Rediscovering how to play with children and friends. CONNECTION WITH LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL As members of The Wilds Lions Club, Johannesburg, South Africa, we are forming a further alliance with Lions. In addition to bringing our gifts and services to the people of Africa, telling the stories of our travel experiences and the lessons in love we encounter; we would like to share the success stories - the lessons in love - about what Lions Clubs International has achieved and is achieving throughout Africa, with the rest of the world. As we travel through Africa, we will be connecting with Lions clubs, joining them in reaching out and lifting up, and getting their stories ... The stories of the everyday heroes' lion heart courage, their lion heart strength and truth ... It’s these stories that we want to share. Ordinary people doing extraordinary things! We see the journey following the “pass the parcel” concept, which means literally, that we (the parcel) are handed over from one Club to the next. The tour launched at the Lions Clubs International All Africa Conference in Lusaka, Zambia, in February 2011, presenting to the Clubs attending, with the view to gaining support, publicity and invitations to visit and extend our gifts in support of their communities. We will also be looking for other networks to connect to and possibly form a link between networks across Africa. All across Africa’s 54 countries … There is no fixed plan or route. We will be following our hearts and go to where we get invited and form connections. There is no specific time frame – We expect the trip through Africa to take up to 3 years. THE BOOK: LESSONS IN LOVE FROM AFRICA – BY LITTLE LION On our return, the stories will be shared in a book (and possibly a documentary) on our travels, the love that Africa has to offer and the lessons learnt. The working title is Lessons in Love From Africa – By Little Lion. After completing the tour of Africa, having accumulated all our stories, we would like to continue on to Europe, where we will share the stories of Africa. Here the link with Lions Clubs International and other networks continues. We will still accumulate Lessons in Love stories e.g. Lessons in Love from Europe - By Little Lion and eventually, Lessons in Love - From South America, Australia, China etc. where we will continue to share the Lessons in Love learnt from Africa … Dreaming BIG … We want to buy or have sponsored a pre-owned cargo plane, e.g. C 23 Sherpa, Shorts Skyvan or DHC 4 Caribou … painted pink and called Gertrude … to enable us to reach more remote areas without having to leave our Land Rover, Angelique, and gifting equipment behind … We see this as a way to form stronger connections and bonds between networks in different countries, all over the world – Linking them together. Another play on my name: L. Rink – Drop the “r” and you get Link. I am also known as “Ms Link”!
