Lynette is living a dream of travelling with purpose. On 8 August 2009 she embarked on her “Love in Action Tour” of Africa; accumulating, experiencing and sharing the lessons in love and the good news stories that Africa has to share with the world.
About Michael Voack
Michael was born on 14 September 1970 in Nürnberg, Germany. After graduating from high school he began studying law. Before completing his degree he left to join the family business – a hardware stores franchise.
A two year interlude as assistant manager at the 1.FC Nürnberg Soccer Club followed, while his dad was club president. Michael’s responsibilities were marketing and organisation.
From there on he was entrusted with the real estate development of the company hardware stores, the property management and the business calculations for expansion.
Besides working for the family business, he was a board member of several companies ranging from financial services to adventure parks. He never gave up his passion for law, and often served as a company liquidator.
Now a co-director of Lifetime Experiences, Michael left the family hardware business and gave up his life in Nürnberg, Germany, to be with Lynette in Africa in May 2010. Having travelled extensively, he willingly shares his experience, business and technical skills and knowledge.
A MacGyver, who can fix anything, he is used to taking risks. Michael is an adventurer, having done approximately 60 bungy jumps and bridge swings world wide.
He is gentle, kind, loving and patient … an excellent cook, bakes a great apple pie and produces delicious homemade jam.
Michael has an 11 year old daughter, Kim, living in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
About Us - The Love Story
In December 2009 Michael spent his holiday at Victoria Falls, Zambia. He arrived at Waterberry Lodge with an adventure wish list ... bungy jumping, gorge swinging, swimming in Devil’s Pool, microlight flight over Vic Falls, visit to Chobe … and all the other unusual things one can do at this extraordinary place.
Lynette was helping her friend, Gail, manage the lodge. One of her duties was to care for the guests. So she cared for and hosted Michael … with the successful result that they fell in love with each other!
In April 2010 Michael returned to Africa, to Johannesburg, where he and Lynette continued their adventures, doing the Soweto Tower and Bloukrans Bridge bungy jumps, consolidating their love for each other and their dreams of travelling Africa together.
Michael went back to Germany, sorted out his business and returned to Johannesburg on 1 May 2010. Their dreams of Africa travels are in motion - the Gifting Africa - Love In Action Tour has been born.
About Angelique – A 1976 Land Rover Travelling Africa
Lynette and Michael were looking for a reliable 4 x 4, preferably a Land Rover Defender 110, when they drove out of Johannesburg one day, direction Krugersdorp.
At the roadside they discovered a Land Rover which was different to all the others they had seen before. It was a completely unique and refurbished 1976 Land Rover Series III.
Love at first sight! They bought the car immediately and christened her “Angelique”. (She was sent by the angels.)
With newly installed features like a roof rack, roof tent and long range fuel tank she is perfectly equipped and ready for travelling Africa.
